Texas Cities

Texas City is located within Houston metropoliation area in Galveston County Texas. The population has increased from 41, 521, according to the Census Bureau in 2000, to an estimated 44, 274 in 2005.  A few areas in Texas City are located within Chambers County. Texas City is the 8th largest port in the United States.  Texas City is located on the southwestern shore line of Galveston Bay and was orginally founded by Frank Davidson in the late 19th Century.  The Davidson Home is now perserved by the Texas City Historical Associaton located in Heritage Square.
